City Council met last night as part of their regularly scheduled meetings. A relatively short agenda that included some ordinances and housekeeping items like authorizing the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade and a liquor license for the new owners of 39th Street Liquors, Rap Retail, LLC.
The Kansas City Sports Commission released the official route and schedule for the Chiefs Super Bowl victory celebration. The parade will launch at 11 am Wednesday morning. The 2 mile route begins on Grand Boulevard at 6th Street and goes south to Pershing Road then turns west and heads to Union Station where the victory rally will be staged at the front of the building. If you are only interested in the Victory rally it will begin at approx 12:45.
According to a recent press release from the Missouri Times, a poll was conducted that found that Missouri voters were overwhelmingly in favor of legalizing sports betting to help fund our classrooms. This is a non-partisan issue that has gained support from both sides of the isle as well as independents. If legislation was to pass Missouri would be joining a number of other states including 7 of the 8 states that surround us.
