MODOT has some planned roadwork for Northwest Missouri this week that may impact your drive. U.S. Route 71 – crews will be Pothole patching from Route AB to the Iowa state line, today. Route 46 – crews will be pothole patching from Route 113 to the Atchison County line, Feb. 21. Route AB – crews will be Pothole patching from the U.S. Route 71 to Route 46, Feb. 23. MoDOT asks drivers to buckle up, put your phone down, slow down and move over in work zones.
This month marks the 156th Anniversary of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The organization has a strong community service commitment. State election administrators are being warned by cybersecurity officials that they will face some serious threats ahead of November’s presidential election. Aside from the substantial cyber threat we face from our foreign adversaries, hackers now have begun using AI to engineer robo calls that sound like Joe Biden, easily confusing and misleading voters. Lessons learned from 2016 and 2020 have not been forgotten. Secretaries of state are using #TrustedInfo2024 on social media in promoting the importance of going to trusted sources for election information. AI platform Chat GPT has started directing users with election-related questions to CanIVote.org, a website run by the National Association of Secretaries of State.
