The Maryville Optimist Club recently presented Julia Poynter with a scholarship to help continue her education. Poynter is a graduate of Maryville High School and plans on attending the University of Kansas to become a pediatric speech language pathologist, according to the release. Poynter was involved in student council, National Honor Society, FCCLA and more while in high school.
