Nodaway-Holt Board of Education decided at it’s meeting last week that it will distribute old Chromebooks to students instead of selling them to third party companies, according toThe Maryville Forum. Superintendent Mike Hollingsworth said that the school has a few dozen outdated Chromebooks left that would normally be sold a company that purchases old electronics for about $5 per unit. The old Chromebooks had auto update expirations that made the computers unusable for tasks such as standardized tests but still work fine for typical use such as searching the web.
