The AFL-CIO Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program told News-Press Now that it still has more than 400 families needing help this holiday. AFL-CIO said 893 families enrolled, and 447 families have already been adopted. The organization is also behind in funding for the program to help its in-house adoption gift room, which opens Dec. 18. Monetary donations and toys can be dropped off at the AFL-CIO at 1203 N. Sixth St.
