Nodaway County Commission adopted a new ordinance this week that grants senior citizens who own and live in their primary residence a tax credit. Seniors must at least 62 years old to apply. Northwest Missouri State University has received a grant totaling $600,000 to improve the walkway connecting the Joyce and Harvey White International Plaza and the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. The grant is from The Missouri Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program and will help enhance safety, acessibility and connecting Maryville to campus.
Northwest Missouri State University announced the promotion of Christy Tapps to NWMSU head athletic trainer for the Bearcats. Tapps has been an assistant athletic trainer at Northwest since 2016 and also serves as Northwest’s Senior Woman Administrator.
Little Mr. and Miss Nodaway County were named at Thursday night or the Nodaway Counry Fair. Five-year-old Keller McMahon, daughter of Nicole McGinness, was named Little Miss and five-year-old Henry Dimmitt, son of Elizabeth and Travis Dimmitt, was crowned Little Mr. Nodaway County.
The City of Maryville has awarded Dianne Fisher with the July Beautification Award. Fisher’s home, located at 123 North Country Club Rd., won for the beautiful yard she has crafted for her dogs. The Beautification Award is given our monthly from April to October.
