The Regional Professional Development Center at Northwest Missouri State University announced two area teachers as its Regional Teachers of the Year. Barbara Spencer, an art teacher at Spring Garden Middle School in the St. Joseph and Stacy Walker, a science teacher at North Andrew R-VI School District were named as Regional Teachers.

Fireworks display in St. Joe

The City of St. Joseph will host its Independence Day celebrations on July 4 near the YMCA. Fireworks will begin 15 minutes after dark and prime view locations include the YMCA, Green Acres, Regal Hollywood Theater and Kohls. There will be no food truck or drink vendors so it is recommended viewer bring their own.
