The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce presented eight awards at its 63rd annual Farm-City Banquet held earlier this month, according to the Maryville Forum. Awards included Outstanding Farm Advocate presented to State Representatives Jeff Farman, the Frank Felton Outstanding Farm Youth presented to Hadley Cline and a Century Farm award given to Madden Farms.
Buchanan County officials are reassessing real estate appraisal values for 2025, according to News-Press Now. Residents who see an increase in their assessed value will receive a letter in the mail about any changes in the beginning of May.
The Maryville Public Library announced it reached its goal of raising $200,000 to secure a Bolger Foundation grant of $50,000, according to the Maryville Forum. The grant will be used to replace the building’s deteriorating 113-year-old windows.
The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place at the corner of Third and Market streets at 3:17 p.m. on March 15. The parade is down to 76 feet and is organized by Burny’s Sports Bsr and Upper Deck.
Downtown Maryville will hold its Annual Stakeholders Forum from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on March 18 at the Rose Hill Event Center. The event will share upcoming events and projects for 2025 along with opportunities to get involved with the organization.

Registration is open for the Friends of the Animal Shelter’s 11th annual Run and Walk for the Paws 5K. Registration is $30 before March 26 and will increase to $35 leading up to the race on April 13.The 5K is held annually to support the efforts of the St. Joseph Animal Control and Rescue.
The Northwest Missouri Mental Health Cooperative Board is preparing to expand the cooperative to include Atchison and Andrew counties, according to the Maryville Forum. Atchison County was originally part of the cooperative’s found counties but backed out before the boards creation due to monetary contribution concerns.
Boudreaux’s Louisiana Seafood and Steaks has moved to a building in downtown St. Joseph, according to News-Press Now. Boudreaux’s will now welcome guests at 123 South 6th Street. The new location features two floors, an updated balcony and a bar area for social gatherings.
Author Lance Dorrel will give a presentation at the Maryville Public Library oat 1 p.m. on March 15 regarding his research on the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Dorrell has studied the battle since he was a child and has written two books about it.
