A February 4 special election in Maryville will have voters decide on authorizing $50 million in bonds to pay for a new water treatment facility, The Maryville Forum reported. The plan for the facility was announced in June of last year with a goal of completion by August 2027.
Bob Bohlken of Maryville was recognized for his 70-year involvement with the American Legion last week, according to The Maryville Forum. A party with friends, family and legion members was held in his honor at Oak Pointe. Bohlken joined the American Legion after his service during the Korean War in July 1955.

Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office opened 6,689 incidents in 2024 and helped approximately 413 “walk-ins” to the sheriff’s office, according to the Maryville Forum.
