The City of Maryville awarded the May Beautification Award to Jerry and Mary Bradshaw who own the property at 416 S Munn St. Each month from April to October, the City presents a property owner with the award for beautification or improvements made to the property.

Sissen Eek Park on Lincoln Street in Maryville is set for a makeover with equipment everyone can use. Nodaway County Services in funding an all-inclusive playground that will be incorporated with the current equipment. The upgrade will cost around $250,000 and construction
Northwest Missouri State University issued a press release where it announced construction plans for Martindale Hall. The plans include an expansion of the building and renovation on the outside of the building. Martindale Hall closed this month and is expected to reopen in fall 2026.
The Maryville R-2 school district is hosting two groundbreaking events this week. The first is Tuesday, May 21 at 11:30 a.m. at the high school to mark improvements to the athletic fields. The second event is at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at Eugene Field Elementary.
Maryville High School held its commencement ceremony for the Class of 2024 on Sunday, May 19th. Over 100 graduates turned their tassels and received their diplomas. The class flower was a yellow rose and class colors were green, white and gold.
The Nodaway County 911 Oversight Board held a meeting Tuesday to discuss the “next-gen 911” system and a grant from the the Missouri 911 Service Board to upgrade its dispatch equipment. The upgrade would allow dispatchers to receive 911 text messages. The board said the new system would be active by the end of the year.
