Bill Eigel, one of the leading candidates for the Republican nomination for governor has publicly stated that if elected governor he’d invoke a provision in the Missouri Constitution allowing him to call out the militia to gather and deport all undocumented immigrants. Eigel is the only candidate that has stated he will pursue the expulsion of the estimated 70,000 illegal immigrants that have brought crime to Missouri communities.

A bill sponsored by Republican Senator Denny Hoskins has been discussed on the floor in relation to Critical Race Theory. Hoskins’ bill would allow Missouri’s attorney general to investigate compliance and would revoke half of a district’s state funding if a violation were found should Senate bill 918 pass that would ban school districts from discussing any topic or curriculum similar to critical race theory or the 1619 Project.
