MODOT has scheduled some road work that might affect your drive. Crews will be out on Route AB doing some pothole patching From US 71 to Route 46 throughout the week. Be sure to keep an eye out for slow moving equipment and roadside workers.
The Missouri House has approved Legislation to Protect Children and Vulnerable Persons from Trafficking and Exploitation. House bills 1706 and 1539 easily passed by a vote of 143-1. The legislation will establish mechanisms to tackle sex and human trafficking by developing a committee on sex and human tracking training. Additionally, the bill establishes the Statewide Council Against Adult Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. This council is expected to play a key role in coordinating all efforts statewide to fight these crimes.
Tonight is the first of three open houses that will be hosted by the Maryville RII school district. In support of the JUMP Proposition a no tax increase bond. From 6 to 8pm visitors are welcome at Eugene Field Elementary and the Early Childhood Center to come and go as they wish. School leaders will be on hand to answer questions and share information on the proposed changes.
