Nodaway County experienced intense storms Wednesday, resulting in damage through the county. The Maryville Forum reported that outbuildings were damaged or and metal could be seen against houses and flown across roads. The welcome sign in Pickering was knocked to the ground and many in the area were without power for a period of time, causing North Nodaway schools to canceled after school activities. It is still unknown if the damage was from straight winds or from a tornado.
