Forty-five Missouri FCCLA members, including Maryville juniors Mya Aley and Taylor McDanel, engaged in the annual Legislative Shadowing Project in the state’s capitol. The two-day event featured a civics review before the students shadowed their representatives, with Aley and McDanel spending time with State Representative Jeff Farnan. Their experience included observing a House session, meeting the Speaker, exploring the Capitol Building, and even interviewing Farnan for their podcast.
